DURING ESTABLISHMENT: Use a sod/seed starter fertilizer when planting plugs along with a slow release lawn fertilizer. Repeat application of the slow release fertilizer every 30 days until the plugs have grown together.

AFTER ESTABLISHED: Fertilize at least once a year in the spring with a slow release lawn fertilizer.  For poor soils lacking natural nutrients, repeat in mid summer and mid to late fall

PREFERENCE: Never use a fast release fertilizer as it could harm the environment.  The Grassroots program recommends the use of organic fertilizers.
