PREFERRED HERBICIDE FREE METHOD

A Sod Cutter (available to rent) quickly removes existing grass with minimum effort.

A Roto-tiller cuts and mixes the existing grass into the soil. This requires several passes with at least a few days in between.

OTHER METHOD

Following label directions, spray the planting area with glyphosate non-selective herbicide. After a minimum of 10 days, inspect for any surviving vegetation.
